Welcome to our guide on maximizing your candle experience! We’ve combined our love for a warm flame, beautiful scents, and consciously sourced materials, allowing you to make a better choice for yourself and the planet. In this article, we’ll provide tips on maximizing your candle’s burn time, reusing the wax, and keeping your container clean.

First Things First – How to Start?

Choose Your Container

Select a fireproof, steady container that is at least 8 cm wide (we recommend even more). Why 8 cm? As the candle burns, it creates a wax pool with a diameter of about 4 cm. To keep your vessel clean and prevent wax from reaching its walls, we suggest following the 8 cm rule. When using multiple wicks, leave at least 10 cm between each to avoid creating a large wax pool.

Pouring the Pearls and Adding the Wick

After selecting your container, fill it with our pearled candle. Now it’s time to insert the wick. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Always leave no more than 1 cm of the wick exposed above the pearls. Excess wick will burn faster, reducing your candle’s enjoyment time.
  • Ensure the wick does not touch the bottom of the vessel. If using a shallow vessel, cut the wick shorter to prevent the wax pool from reaching the bottom, which can make cleanup messy. Typically, 1 cm of wick burns for about 1 hour.

Extinguishing Your Candle

The best way to extinguish a candle is by using a wick dipper. Simply dip the wick into the wax pool and then straighten it again. This method prevents the wick from smoking and avoids liquid wax splashing. Plus, it coats the wick with wax, allowing for cleaner and longer burning in future uses.

Refreshing and Refilling

When you want to refresh your candle (or switch the container), remove the wax pool with the wick (just flip it to reveal the unburnt end), add more pearls if needed, and insert a new wick. To reuse the wax pool, crumble it into tiny pieces and mix it into the pearls. This way, you create even less waste and enjoy more burn time.

A Safety Note

Always prioritize safety when using candles. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from flammable materials, children, and pets. If knocked over, our pearled candle usually self-extinguishes.

We hope this guide and these tips enhance your experience and help you enjoy the warm glow and beautiful scents of your pearled candles to the fullest.
